Here's hoping we see a patch relatively soon.
So, I would encourage fellow pro owners to, for the time being, use movie mode until a patch is released that caps menu framerates to reduce the heat strain on the HW.
In the pop-up menu, choose 'Nioh Launcher Menu,' which should start a launcher program for the game. Further testing confirmed the menus are a strain point for the HW in Action mode but seemingly no increase to fan noise or heat in Movie mode. In order to change the graphics settings in Nioh: Complete Edition, you need to exit the game and go to your Steam game library.
Nioh 2 PC Performance Guide: How To Fix Low FPS and Stuttering Issue. I noticed the warped plastic after I had left the game running for an hour or so on a menu while I went out to eat lunch. Nioh 2 Complete Edition releases tomorrow and, unfortunately, it suffers from some PC optimization issues.
Movie mode however does not seem to have an uncapped framerate in menus and as a result my Pro feels relatively cool to the touch after my sessions playing in that mode.īefore anyone asks yes I cleaned out the vents on my pro just ot be certain dust/obstruction was not an issue and I have is in an open air hutch to promote best possible airflow. Nothing too serious mind you just a bit of an indent in the plastic difficult to see but easy to feel when running your hand over the surface. High enough in fact to warp the plastic on mine a bit. I've done a bit of testing and it seems like the framerate in menus is not capped in Action mode on the Pro resulting in what feels like dangerously high heat levels.
